Mehndi invitation wording in Urdu, Roman Urdu and English (with examples)

The Mehndi is the most colourful night of a Pakistani wedding, and the card sets the mood. Here is wording you can copy, plus a checklist so you don't miss anything.

What every Mehndi card needs

• Whose Mehndi it is (bride, groom, or both)
• Date and time, with the day of the week
• Venue name and full address, ideally with a map link
• Dress code, for example "yellow and green" or "bright colours"
• Who to reply to, or a link where guests can RSVP

English wording

"Join us for an evening of dholak, songs and colour as we celebrate Ayesha's Mehndi. Come dressed in yellow and green!"

"Together with our families, we invite you to the Mehndi of Ayesha and Hamza. Your presence will make the night complete."

Mayun and Dholki wording

"Ayesha ki Mayun mein aap ki shirkat hamare liye baais-e-masarrat hogi. Sirf qareebi ahbab ke liye."

"Dholki ki raat — chai, gaanay aur dholak. Har Jumeraat, shaadi tak!"

Tips for a Mehndi card that gets replies

Keep the main line short so it reads well on a phone. Put the dress code near the date, since it is the detail guests forget most. And ask for an RSVP per function: many families invite more people to the Barat than to the Mehndi, and a per-function headcount saves a lot of last-minute counting.
